How to prepare for an insurance adjuster call
The goal is not to sound polished. The goal is to stay factual, avoid guessing, and keep the claim record organized enough for the next step.
Short answer
Before the call, write down the accident date, location, vehicles, claim number, damage, symptoms, treatment visits, photos, and any expenses. If you are asked for a recorded statement, broad release, or final settlement before you understand the claim, pause and get guidance.
Have this in front of you
- Claim number, adjuster name, phone number, and email.
- Photos, repair estimate, tow receipt, rental receipt, and storage bill.
- Doctor, urgent care, or therapy visit dates if you were hurt.
- A short timeline of what happened without guesses or extra commentary.
Questions to ask
- What claim number should I use for future documents?
- What documents do you need first?
- Are you asking for a recorded statement?
- What is the repair, rental, or inspection process?
- How should I send photos and receipts?
Keep it factual
It is fine to say you do not know, you need to check a document, or you are still getting treatment. Avoid estimating speed, injury recovery, repair cost, or fault if you are not sure.
Need help before the call?
LegalMax can help organize the facts and get a bilingual specialist on the phone. This is not legal advice.
